Almost a High Schooler Night!

MIT Academy has an outstanding high school program that was recognized in 2015 by US News and World Report as "One of America's Best High Schools." To help you fully appreciate MIT's amazing programs and offerings, we have set aside Thursday February 18th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. to help 8th-grade parents and students prepare for the high-school adventure. At the meeting, we will address a variety of issues about high school in general and MIT in particular, including:

  • What exactly are the "A-G" college entrance requirements?
  • What special programs or pathways does MIT offer?
  • Should my child consider graduating early?
  • Can my child play high school sports at MIT?
  • What is the internship, and how does it get completed?
  • How does my child complete the required 9college units?
  • I heard there's summer school for freshmen. Do they have to attend?
  • …plus many more topics of interest!
While this event is intended primarily for 8th-grade parents (with their students), all are welcome to attend. As with all parent events, parent participants will receive commitment hours for their attendance. If you can't attend, the presentation will be available on our website as of Thursday 2/18. Note the event will be offered in both English and Spanish.

MIT has had tremendous success with its high school program, and Thursday is an important step in continuing that success. We look forward to seeing you there!
