ColorGuard
Congratulations to the Middle School and High School ColorGuards both earned 1st place in their division! The kids have been working very hard and I am very pleased with their performances. We had a lot of support from non-colorguard students and some staff at the competition on Saturday 3/13, at Vallejo High School.
This Friday, we will be off to Del Oro High School in Loomis, CA to compete with about 40 other schools... wish us luck!
4/6/09The high school ColorGuard ended their winterguard season on a very successful note. On Friday, they competed at Benicia High School and took 1st place in their division. At Championships on Saturday, MIT Academy's colorguard was announced as the 2009 NCBA Advanced Division Champions! Very soon we will honor the kids and the coaches for an outstanding season. Bravo again to Marcus for putting together two impressive teams – middle and high school.
3/23/09Happy Spring Break! I am pleased to share with you that both the middle school and the high school colorguards took 1st place in their division at the Del Oro competition on Friday, March 20. The middle school has been undefeated all season, and the high school has placed first or second at all of their competitions. The judges were so impressed by the high school on Friday, that they were trying to move them up to a higher division!
The high school will compete again on Friday, April 3 at Benicia High School. I will send out an email with more information when I receive it. Thanks again for all of your support.

MIT's colorguard once again had a very successful weekend at Vallejo High School. The middle school colorguard came in first in their division, and the high school came in second in their division.
The kids were excited to see many familiar faces in the audience. In addition to many students from MIT coming out to support their friends, Mr. van Adelsberg was able to watch both groups perform as well. It was also a nice surprise for the kids when they saw that Mrs. Steele came out to watch them.
