Parent Workshop: "Setting Limits with Teens"

Setting Limits with Teens
MIT Parent Workshops
January 6, 13, 20, 2015

Tired of arguing, coercing, or browbeating your teenager to get them to do homework, obey curfews, or take out the garbage? Dr. Robert MacKenzie, renowned psychologist and author of Setting Limits with Your Strong-Willed Child, will be presenting a 3-evening workshop series at MIT Academy on January 6, 13, and 20th. Dr. MacKenzie has presented around the country as well as internationally and is known for his lively and humorous approach as he shares a framework for using “logical consequences” with your child, which includes practical tips and easy-to-master skills that can be used immediately. Forget the power struggles, negotiating, and badgering, and discover tried-and-true techniques for getting cooperation and responsibility from your teen.

Ice Cream, You Scream, We All Scream!

Parents,

You are cordially invited to this Friday's Ice Cream Social any time from 4 - 6 on the basketball court. Parents and staff are invited to drop by to chat with other parents, board members, and staff, and of course get some ice cream! Students are eligible too, but must bring a parent (or other guardian adult) with them to get their own ice cream. Parents will receive 2 hours of commitment time for their participation. It’s fun, light-hearted, and tasteful, so we hope to see you there!
